Why Choose Beckett Grading?

Subgrades on Every Card

BGS reports four subgrades — centering, corners, edges, and surface — alongside the overall grade, so buyers can see exactly why a card graded the way it did.

The Black Label 10

A BGS 10 with four perfect 10 subgrades earns the Black Label — the rarest and most sought-after designation in card grading, and a major premium at resale.

Premium Slab

Beckett’s thick, tamper-evident holder with its colored label is built for long-term protection and display, and is especially popular for modern autos and numbered parallels.

Beckett Grading FAQ

Beckett Grading Services (BGS) is a third-party authentication and grading service for trading cards. BGS grades on a 1-10 scale and, unlike most graders, reports four subgrades — centering, corners, edges, and surface — on the label alongside the overall grade.

A Black Label is a BGS 10 Pristine where all four subgrades are also 10. It is the hardest grade to earn in the hobby and typically sells at a large premium over a standard BGS 10.

PSA is the largest grading company and generally has the broadest resale demand, especially for vintage and mainstream sports cards. Beckett's subgrades and thicker slab make it a favorite for modern autographs, numbered parallels, and high-end cards where a perfect 10 carries a big premium. Many collectors submit to both depending on the card. We offer submissions to both through 5 Star Cards.

No. If you don’t have your own card savers, we provide them for free. Just ship your cards to us and we’ll take care of proper preparation for Beckett submission.
