How 5 Star Cards customers opt in to text notifications

About the program

5 Star Cards sends transactional SMS/text notifications to customers who have explicitly opted in. Messages provide updates about customer-submitted trading cards, grading orders, consignment items, pending marketplace offers, grading results, and order completion. Messages are sent only to the mobile number the customer provides in their account. This program is not promotional, and we never message purchased or third-party contact lists.

How customers opt in

Customers opt in through their authenticated account on the 5 Star Cards website. When adding or updating their mobile phone number, the customer is shown a separate, unchecked consent checkbox. Consent is optional — customers can create an account, submit cards, and use every part of the service without agreeing to receive SMS messages.

The checkbox is never pre-selected. We record the consent, phone number, date, time, and IP address as proof of opt-in.
